Open to all military service members past and present, the event was hosted this weekend by the American Legion Post 38 to honor our veterans. Brigadier General James Shelton attended as an honored guest of 21st Century Oncology. Proceeds from the Salute Our Troops Ball go to support active duty servicemen and women and veterans in our community, providing basic support such as food, clothing and housing.
“As a dedicated cancer care partner, we are honored to support our veterans and strive to provide the highest quality medical care in the markets where we have facilities,” says Constantine A. Mantz, M.D., Board Certified Radiation Oncologist and 21st Century Oncology’s Chief Medical Officer. “21st Century Oncology is dedicated to non-civilian care and outreach efforts.”
21st Century Oncology partners with the VA through Project H.E.R.O., a program that helps veterans receive the care they need when it is not readily available at a local VA Medical Center. The ultimate goal of Project H.E.R.O. is to ensure that all health care delivered through VA providers or community-based care partners is of comparable quality and consistency for veterans. Project H.E.R.O. aids in improving the exchange of medical information between VA and non-VA providers, fosters high-quality care and patient safety, and increases veteran satisfaction and care efficiency.
21st Century Oncology physicians share information on the latest treatments for various cancers through presentations and invited lectures at VA clinics and American Legion posts, as well as sponsoring veteran’s appreciation events. Upcoming VA events include:
“Adopt A Senior” Christmas Program, sponsored by the Ft. Myers Police and the American Legion, 21st Century Oncology will “adopt” 20 seniors – December 1
Cancers and Diseases Associated with Agent Orange Presentation – American Legion Post 38 – December 6
