Managing over 80 physicists and an equipment development and maintenance team, Galmarini is recognized as a leader in disseminating advancements in radiation therapy software, training and equipment. This in-house physics and engineering force complements the organizational focus on employing the most advanced technologies to provide patients superior care in a safe and quality controlled environment.
Prior to joining 21st Century Oncology in 1990, Galmarini served as Director of Physics of multiple institutions. He has held numerous educational positions in universities, including teaching theoretical physics in Central and South America and lecturing on medical physics at the University of Miami.
Galmarini obtained his certification of Specialist in Physics from the National Atomic Energy Commission of Argentina. He is also certified in Therapeutic Medical Physics from the American Board of Radiology.
Galmarini has received several awards including the Best Scientific Work in Oncology from Argentina’s National Academy of Medicine on the subject of Neuro-Oncological Stereotaxy. He is the author of publications covering a variety of fields, from teletherapy and brachytherapy physics of radiation therapy, to neurosurgery, radiobiology and computers applied to radiation therapy. Mr. Galmarini is a member of the American Association of Physics in Medicine and the American Brachytherapy Society.
Mr. Galmarini received his degree in physics from the School of Exact Sciences at the National University of La Plata, Argentina.
